About HAYNZ

Somewhere right now, someone is creating music in a bedroom or a home studio or a borrowed rehearsal space, and they have no idea whether anyone will ever hear it. And somewhere else, someone is scrolling through the same thirty recommended tracks they have been served all week, looking for something that actually surprises them.

HAYNZ started because of both of those people.

HAYNZ is an independent music platform built for music fans, independent self-releasing artists and curious listeners looking for trustworthy curation without the industry noise.

We are not trying to compete with the major music press. We are not chasing algorithms or viral moments. The aim is simpler and harder than that: to find music worth your time, to support the artists who made it, and to be genuinely useful to anyone trying to navigate the industry without a label behind them.

WHAT WE COVER

HAYNZ covers music news, new releases, heritage artists, live shows and the realities of releasing music independently. Coverage spans multiple genres, with a focus on western artists and English-language music, plus major tours and live entertainment across the UAE and wider region.

Alongside editorial content for fans, HAYNZ publishes practical guides and advice for independent musicians navigating self-releases, promotion, branding and artist development.

Content sections: News, Features, Artist Profiles, New Releases, Playlists, Tracks of the Week, Songs From The Vault, Best Of The Best, Women In Music, Vinyl Corner, K-Pop, Desi, Arabic and World Music, Music Marketing, and Industry Reports.

WHO’S BEHIND HAYNZ

HAYNZ is curated and edited by Darren Haynes, who has spent more than thirty years working in the music industry, not writing about it from the outside. Live events, festivals, radio, television, artist development, licensing and broadcasting. That background shapes everything here, from the artists we spotlight to the advice we give and the concerts we archive.

The goal is simple: support great music, spotlight overlooked artists, and create a platform where music fans and independent creators feel equally welcome.

Mission Statememt

HAYNZ exists to champion independent self-releasing artists who deserve to be seen, heard and taken seriously.

We believe great music should not be buried by industry gatekeeping, streaming algorithms or marketing budgets. That is why we built our own platform, one focused on honest curation, practical support and meaningful exposure for artists creating music on their own terms.

HAYNZ is a music site and an artist resource. We cover daily news, publish features on new releases and heritage acts, maintain playlists, and run a practical support service for independent artists navigating the music industry on their own terms.

We are building a community around music without snobbery, hype or compromise, a place where artists and fans can connect through curiosity, passion and respect for the craft.

Music changed our lives. This platform exists to give something back.
