Paul McCartney And Oasis Brothers Join UK Music Rich List As Sunday Times Reveals Wealthiest Artists

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney and Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher are among the biggest names featured in the latest The Sunday Times Rich List, which ranks the wealthiest figures in British music and entertainment.

McCartney remains the only musician in UK history to achieve billionaire status, with the former The Beatles star and his wife Nancy Shevell listed with a combined fortune of £1.055 billion.

According to the Rich List, McCartney’s wealth continues to grow through touring income, publishing rights, catalogue reissues and the long-term commercial success of The Beatles’ music.

Oasis brothers enter the Rich List for the first time

Noel and Liam Gallagher make their first appearance on the list with an estimated combined fortune of £375 million.

The figure follows renewed interest in Oasis after the band’s hugely successful Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour, which marked the brothers’ return to the stage together after 16 years.

Their combined valuation reflects decades of publishing royalties, solo careers, touring revenue and continued global demand for Oasis’ catalogue across streaming and licensing platforms.

Despite years of highly publicised tensions between the pair, Oasis remains one of the most commercially successful British bands of the modern era.

Warner Music owner tops overall music wealth rankings

At the top of the overall list is Leonard Blavatnik, whose fortune is estimated at £26.852 billion.

Blavatnik’s holdings include ownership of Warner Music Group, making him by far the wealthiest music-linked figure in the UK rankings.

Second place goes to Clive Calder, the co-founder of Zomba Group and former owner of Jive Records, with a reported fortune of £3.25 billion.

Calder played a major role in shaping late 1990s and early 2000s pop music through artists including Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

Elton John, Rolling Stones and Ed Sheeran remain among Britain’s richest artists

The list also includes several of Britain’s most enduring music stars and live entertainment figures.

Cameron Mackintosh ranks third overall with £1.4 billion thanks to productions including Les Misérables, Hamilton and The Phantom of the Opera.

Further down the rankings are Andrew Lloyd Webber at £516 million, Elton John at £480 million, and Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, both valued at £450 million.

Ed Sheeran remains the wealthiest British artist of his generation with an estimated fortune of £410 million, while Emily Eavis and her family are listed at £400 million through their involvement with Glastonbury Festival.
