Olivia Rodrigo has teased the possibility of performing alongside Stevie Nicks at her upcoming Daisy Chain Fields festival, the all-female music event taking place on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California.
The three-time Grammy winner revealed the potential collaboration during an appearance on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer, where she discussed the inspiration behind the festival and its star-studded lineup.
The inaugural event will feature performances from Stevie Nicks, Chappell Roan, Doechii, KATSEYE, Karen O, Sarah McLachlan and other female artists, with all net proceeds supporting organisations focused on advancing opportunities for women and girls.
Olivia Rodrigo explains the meaning behind Daisy Chain Fields
Speaking about the festival’s name, Rodrigo said she wanted to create an event centred on community, creativity and connection.
“When I pictured this festival, I had an image in my head of girls sitting underneath a tree, like, making little daisy chains or flower crowns or friendship bracelets. I also just like the idea of a daisy chain, how we can all be individual links in this chain that is larger than the individual.”
The festival marks a major milestone for the singer, who has previously used her platform to support charitable causes and advocate for women’s rights.
Stevie Nicks duet teased during TV interview
One of the biggest talking points from Rodrigo’s interview came when Diane Sawyer asked whether fans could expect a duet with Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks.
Rather than shutting down the speculation, Rodrigo hinted that something special could be in the works.
“We might make that happen for you, Diane. We’ll see. Can’t give too much away.”
The prospect of a live collaboration between Rodrigo and Nicks is likely to excite fans, particularly after the pair previously shared the stage during a special performance of Edge of Seventeen.
Sarah McLachlan was the first artist Rodrigo contacted
Rodrigo also revealed that Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan was the first artist she approached when putting together the festival lineup.
“Actually the first person that I called when I decided that I wanted to do this festival was Sarah McLachlan. She’s a total trailblazer and an incredible artist and friend.”
McLachlan’s inclusion reflects the festival’s focus on celebrating influential women across multiple generations of music.
Daisy Chain Fields will support charities for women and girls
When announcing the festival on Instagram, Rodrigo described Daisy Chain Fields as a long-held dream and confirmed that all net proceeds will benefit charitable organisations.
“truly never felt more excited to share a piece of news with you all. i’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and i am so ecstatic its finally coming true!! Daisy Chain Fields features an all-women lineup and 100 percent of the net proceeds will go to charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls. the lineup is truly insane and full of my heroes and friends. i firmly believe that joy, community, and music can be the drivers of meaningful change and I’m hopeful this festival will be just that. I absolutely cannot wait to scream and dance and sing with you guys August 29th!!!!”
The singer also encouraged fans to register for presale access through the festival website.
Which charities will benefit from Daisy Chain Fields?
Rodrigo confirmed that net profits from ticket sales will be donated to a number of organisations and non-profits, including:
