Saudi Arabia’s Live Entertainment Market Continues To Grow As Platinumlist Launches New Membership Programme

Saudi Arabia’s live entertainment industry continues to expand at pace, with the market now valued at an estimated $2.98 billion. As demand for concerts, festivals, sporting events and cultural experiences grows, ticketing platform Platinumlist has introduced Platinumlist Plus, a new membership programme aimed at frequent event-goers in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia is the first market to receive the full public rollout of the service, reflecting the country’s increasingly mature live entertainment sector and the growing appetite for premium event experiences.

Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector continues rapid growth

The launch comes as Saudi Arabia accelerates investment in live entertainment under Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy by expanding the culture, tourism and entertainment sectors.

The government’s Quality of Life Program is helping drive that ambition, with Vision 2030 targeting an increase in household spending on cultural and entertainment activities from 2.9% to 6%.

Industry forecasts suggest the Kingdom’s entertainment market will grow to $5.36 billion by 2031, driven by a packed calendar of concerts, sporting events, festivals and cultural attractions.

Younger audiences are fuelling demand for live experiences

Saudi Arabia’s young population is playing a major role in that growth. Around 71% of the population is under the age of 35, with younger consumers increasingly choosing live experiences over traditional forms of entertainment.

That shift is also changing how audiences buy tickets, with repeat attendance and premium event experiences becoming increasingly important for organisers and ticketing platforms.

According to Platinumlist, its most active customers in Saudi Arabia attend around seven events each year, book tickets roughly 30 days in advance and spend up to five times more than the average customer.

Platinumlist introduces membership for regular event-goers

Against that backdrop, Platinumlist has launched Platinumlist Plus, offering benefits designed for regular attendees.

Members receive:

  • Early access to selected event tickets before public sale
  • Exclusive pricing on selected tickets and packages
  • Access to selected member-only events

New subscribers receive their first month free before memberships continue from USD 7.90 per month, with discounted six-month and annual options available.

Premium experiences are becoming a bigger part of the market

Research across the global media and entertainment industry suggests live events are now the world’s most-purchased entertainment category, with many consumers willing to pay more for premium experiences.

Platinumlist CEO Cosmin Ivan said Saudi Arabia’s entertainment market has changed dramatically over the past decade.

“Over the past decade, we have seen live entertainment in Saudi Arabia become a part of regular social life. Now we have around 24 event categories at an accessible average price of SAR 250. Platinumlist Plus gives frequent event-goers better value and a more direct route to the experiences they already plan around.”

Organisers are focusing on loyal audiences

As competition increases across Saudi Arabia’s growing events calendar, organisers are looking for new ways to build repeat audiences rather than simply selling more tickets.

Platinumlist says its new membership programme is intended to strengthen that relationship by connecting organisers with high-intent customers.

Senior Business Development Manager Moayad Qudus said:

“For organisers, Plus gives a more focused route to high-intent audiences, and gives fans access that feels more personal than a standard ticket purchase. At launch, we’re onboarding selected partners to maintain the quality of the programme and build a consistent membership experience.”
