Sir Cliff Richard has announced his 48th studio album, Only Number Ones, a collection of new recordings of chart-topping songs spanning eight decades.
The 85-year-old British music legend will release the album on 27 November 2026, with his interpretations including “Spirit In The Sky”, “Oh, Pretty Woman”, “Return To Sender”, “Sign of the Times” and a new version of “White Christmas”.
Recorded in February 2026, the album was produced by Sam Hollander and Josh Edmondson and will also be released as a deluxe edition featuring Cliff Richard’s own 14 UK No.1 singles.
Cliff Richard puts his stamp on number one hits
The idea for Only Number Ones came from Richard himself, who approached Warner Music with the concept of recording songs that had reached the top of the charts.
“I suggested to Warner Music that I record an album of songs that made it to No.1. Thank heavens they agreed!!”
Richard then listened to dozens of potential songs before selecting 12 of his favourites.
“I listened to dozens of songs and chose 12 of my favourites. This record is my tribute to fabulous artists who had recorded wonderful tracks that achieved the number one position.”
The album takes Richard across several generations of popular music, with songs originally recorded by artists including Norman Greenbaum, The Everly Brothers, The Monkees, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, David Soul, Harry Styles, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Bill Haley & His Comets.
The collection also includes “White Christmas”, with Richard recording a new 2026 version of the Christmas standard originally made famous by Bing Crosby.
Only Number Ones deluxe edition tracklist
The deluxe edition expands the project with 14 of Richard’s original UK No.1 singles, documenting some of the biggest successes of his career.
The collection includes “Living Doll”, “Travellin’ Light”, “Please Don’t Tease”, “The Young Ones”, “Bachelor Boy”, “Summer Holiday” and “Congratulations”.
It also features later chart-toppers including “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, alongside Richard’s three Christmas No.1 singles: “Mistletoe and Wine”, “Saviour’s Day” and “The Millennium Prayer”.
The deluxe edition also contains three bonus tracks: “Miss You Nights”, “Devil Woman” and the 2003 remix of “White Christmas”.

Cliff Richard to celebrate 86th birthday in London
The album announcement also comes with a special birthday opportunity for Richard’s fans.
The singer will celebrate his 86th birthday with an afternoon tea event at the InterContinental Hotel on Park Lane in London on October 15, one day after his actual birthday.
Fans who pre-order any format of Only Number Ones through Richard’s official store between 9am on September 8 and 2pm BST on September 17 will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the event.
Richard remains one of the biggest-selling artists in UK chart history, ranking third behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley in terms of UK singles sales.
