Ella Langley has tied Mariah Carey’s record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with her country hit “Choosin’ Texas” spending a 22nd week at the top of the chart.
The milestone puts Langley alongside Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, which also spent 22 weeks at No. 1 and previously held the record for the longest-running chart-topper in Billboard Hot 100 history.
“Choosin’ Texas” has now moved past Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, which each spent 20 weeks at No. 1.
The latest achievement adds to a remarkable run for Langley, who has also picked up nine nominations for the 60th Annual CMA Awards.

“Choosin’ Texas” first reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February and has returned to the top of the chart multiple times since.
Langley co-wrote the song with Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor, helping create one of the biggest country crossover hits of recent years.
The singer previously admitted she was stunned by the song’s extraordinary success.
“This genuinely has shocked me to my core,” Langley told Backstage Country in June.
Langley also spoke about the significance of the achievement during a conversation with Lambert.
“I was talking to Miranda the other night. I mean, this is groundbreaking territory for all of us, all the writers on the song, everyone included. And it’s just crazy to see how many different people love this song, and why they love this song.”
The song’s 22-week run means Langley has now matched Carey’s record while moving ahead of two other songs that had previously enjoyed 20-week runs at No. 1.
Ella Langley earns nine CMA Awards nominations
The Billboard achievement comes just days after Langley received nine nominations for the 60th Annual CMA Awards.
Her nominations include categories for Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, alongside recognition for Musical Event and Music Video.
“Choosin’ Texas” and Langley’s “Be Her” are both nominated for Single of the Year and Song of the Year.
The nominations further underline Langley’s rapid rise within country music, with the singer now competing across some of the genre’s biggest award categories.

Langley’s chart success is also strengthening her position in the conversation around the 2027 Grammy Awards.
She is considered a leading contender for Best New Artist, while “Choosin’ Texas” could also feature in the running for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
The official nominations for the 2027 Grammy Awards are scheduled to be announced on 16 November 2026.
