Macklemore’s streaming numbers have surged following his removal from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour, with his 2024 track “Hind’s Hall” jumping from just over 5,000 official on-demand US streams on Sunday 13 September to almost 87,000 on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
The figures, reported by Billboard using early data from Luminate, give the song its biggest daily US streaming total in more than two years. “Hind’s Hall” was released on 5 June 2024 and became closely associated with Macklemore’s public support for Palestine.
Hind’s Hall streams jump after Macklemore tour removal
“Hind’s Hall” experienced its sharpest recent increase as news spread that Macklemore had been removed from Sheeran’s North American tour lineup.
According to the early Luminate figures cited by Billboard, the track generated a little over 5,000 official on-demand US streams on Sunday before rising to nearly 87,000 on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
That represents a substantial increase in just two days and marks the song’s strongest daily streaming performance in more than two years.
The song was originally released by Macklemore in 2024 alongside a video connected to the pro-Palestinian campus protests taking place in the US at the time. Billboard reported that proceeds from the song were initially pledged to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.
Macklemore catalogue also sees streaming boost
The rise was not limited to “Hind’s Hall”, with Macklemore’s wider catalogue also recording significant gains following the tour controversy.
The increase came after Sheeran said the decision to remove Macklemore had been made by the tour promoter rather than by him personally.
Macklemore had previously spoken publicly during two New Jersey performances in support of Palestine, including performing “Hind’s Hall”. The comments became a central part of the dispute surrounding his place on Sheeran’s tour.
Aaron Rowe also sees major streaming increase
Irish singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe was another Loop Tour act whose streaming figures rose after announcing his departure.
Rowe said on Tuesday that he would withdraw from the tour despite his friendship with Sheeran.
“I would lose all respect for myself to carry on as normal.”
According to Luminate data cited by Billboard, Rowe recorded almost 80,000 official on-demand US streams across his catalogue on Tuesday 22 September 2026, an increase of 2,665% from the previous day.
It was described as the best streaming day of Rowe’s career in the United States to date.
Ed Sheeran streaming figures remain steady
While Macklemore and Rowe experienced sharp increases, Ed Sheeran’s US streaming figures remained relatively stable.
Sheeran recorded just over 3.7 million official on-demand US streams on Tuesday 22 September 2026, broadly in line with the total from Monday.
Luminate is the data provider used by Billboard for its streaming and sales measurements, with Billboard charts incorporating official streams from major audio and video platforms.
The contrasting figures highlight how quickly renewed attention around a music industry controversy can affect streaming activity, particularly for catalogue tracks that become central to the surrounding discussion.
