Manchester indie rock band Corella have officially claimed the UK Number 1 spot on the Independent Breakers Chart with their second album, A Beautiful World To Lose, after the Official Charts Company corrected a technical error affecting the initial results.
Released through FLG, the album also reached the Top 5 of the Album Downloads, Record Store and Independent Album Charts, giving Corella their first UK Number 1 as a band.
Corella celebrate first UK Number 1
Frontman Joel Smith said the chart achievement was a major milestone for the four-piece, while thanking the fans, family and friends who have supported the band throughout their career.
The result initially placed another northern band, The Cheap Thrills, at the top before the Official Charts Company identified and corrected the technical discrepancy.
Corella have also paid tribute to The Cheap Thrills following the correction, with the chart position ultimately confirmed in their favour.
The Number 1 arrives after Corella recently completed a seven-date run of shows, where new tracks including “Rewire”, “Jump Scare” and “Lost A Friend” received a strong response from fans.
Corella announce biggest headline tour yet
The band are now taking the momentum into 2027 with their biggest UK and Ireland headline tour to date.
The 13-date February tour will take Corella across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales before ending with a major hometown show at Manchester’s Albert Hall on 25 February.
The announced dates include:
- Dublin, Academy Green Room, 9 February
- Belfast, Ulster Sports Club, 10 February
- Glasgow, St Luke’s, 12 February
- London, Outernet, 18 February
- Manchester, Albert Hall, 25 February
The tour will give fans across the UK and Ireland the chance to hear A Beautiful World To Lose live following its chart success.
Corella tickets go on sale
Tickets for the February 2027 headline tour go on pre-sale at 10am on Wednesday 30 September, with general sale beginning at 10am on Friday 2 October.
