Shakira Breaks Amazon Music Record As Dua Lipa Joins Her In Madrid

Shakira has set a new Amazon Music livestream record after her 3 October 2026 concert in Madrid became the platform’s most-viewed livestream by a female artist.

The Colombian singer performed at Shakira Stadium, the temporary venue inside the Iberdrola Music complex where she is staging a 12-date residency as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

The concert also featured a surprise appearance from Dua Lipa, who joined Shakira onstage for an acoustic performance of “Antología”, taken from Shakira’s 1997 album Pies Descalzos.

Dua Lipa joins Shakira for Antología

Introducing Dua Lipa to the Madrid crowd, Shakira spoke about the significance of performing the song with the British singer.

“For me, it’s an honour and a privilege to sing this song, which means so much to me, with this woman who is so admired and loved around the world.”

Dua Lipa later reflected on the performance in Spanish, describing the moment as a shared experience between herself, Shakira and the audience.

“I felt that you, me, and the audience were one. Very grateful to take home such a beautiful memory!!!”

The appearance brought together two of pop’s biggest global artists for a stripped-back version of one of Shakira’s early songs.

Shakira’s Madrid residency continues

Shakira’s Madrid residency began on 18 September and runs through 11 October.

The shows form part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which takes its name from her 2024 album. The temporary Shakira Stadium was built inside the Iberdrola Music complex specifically for the Madrid run.

The Amazon Music livestream gave fans outside the venue the chance to watch the 3 October performance, which subsequently became the service’s most-viewed livestream by a female artist.

Shakira says she once considered retiring

The Madrid shows come as Shakira has also reflected on the possibility of stepping away from music.

The singer recently told Vogue that she had seriously considered retiring several years ago, despite continuing to enjoy performing.

“A few years ago, I was ready to just buy a farm, raise animals, and retire from music.

“But I look back, and I’m like, ‘How crazy is that?’ I had and have so much more to say and to do. Sometimes we just take what we do for granted, or just forget about who we are.”

Shakira remains one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with a career spanning more than three decades and global hits including “Hips Don’t Lie”, “Whenever, Wherever” and “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)”.

Shakira says her fans feel like family

The 49-year-old singer also spoke about what continues to draw her to the stage.

“I think that when I perform, I don’t just do it in front of ‘an audience’.

“I do it surrounded by my family. I feel that my fans, those who have fun in the crowd, those who have listened to my music for so long … I feel they really understand me, and they also know my flaws. They don’t condemn my defects.”

For now, Shakira’s focus remains on her Madrid residency, with the final show scheduled for 11 October 2026.
