Robbie Williams has been named an official Album Icon for National Album Day 2026, joining a group of artists celebrating the enduring importance of the album.
The ninth edition of National Album Day takes place on Saturday 17 October 2026, with this year’s campaign focused on legendary music icons. Williams joins previously announced Album Icons PinkPantheress, Max Richter CBE and Melanie C.
Robbie Williams’ Sing When You’re Winning returns on vinyl
To mark Williams’ inclusion in this year’s celebration, Universal Music Recordings and Island Records are reissuing his third studio album, Sing When You’re Winning, as a limited-edition 2LP set.
The new edition will be pressed on red and blue coloured vinyl and marks the first time the multi-platinum album has been available on vinyl in 25 years.
The record will also be pressed at 45 RPM, matching the format used for the album’s original vinyl release.
Originally released in August 2000, Sing When You’re Winning went on to achieve 8× Platinum status in the UK and spent 77 weeks on the UK Albums Chart.
The album produced several of Williams’ best-known singles, including “Rock DJ”, “Supreme” and “Kids”, his collaboration with Kylie Minogue.
Robbie Williams celebrates album legacy
Williams has become one of the UK’s most successful solo artists, with 18 BRIT Awards and 16 UK Number 1 albums to his name.
His National Album Day recognition comes as the campaign continues to highlight the role albums have played in shaping music and popular culture.
National Album Day is presented in association with BBC Radio 2 and brings together record labels, independent record shops, artists and fans across the UK.
The annual event marks the album format through special releases, listening events and artist-led celebrations, with the 2026 edition placing its focus on some of music’s most established icons.
For Williams, the celebration also provides an opportunity to revisit one of the defining albums from his early solo career through its new coloured-vinyl edition.
