Two Unheard Ozzy Osbourne Songs Could Feature In Upcoming Biopic

Ozzy Osbourne

Two previously unreleased Ozzy Osbourne songs could be heard for the first time in the rock legend’s upcoming biopic, with the recordings reportedly dating back to sessions for his 2022 album Patient Number 9.

Osbourne, who died in July 2025, is said to have secretly worked on several tracks with producer Andrew Watt while making the Grammy-winning album. Two of those recordings are now being considered for the film, which is being developed by Sony Pictures with the involvement of his widow, Sharon Osbourne, and son Jack.

According to a source quoted by The Sun’s Bizarre column, the songs have only been heard by Watt and the musicians involved in the sessions.

“Ozzy had a practical outlook about his medical issues and life.

“He was very excited to be in the studio for the Patient Number 9 sessions because Andrew managed to bring energy and excitement, even though he was struggling with his ailments.

“They worked on the album and Ozzy knew that, with the biopic in development, he saw an idea for works about his life and romance with Sharon.

“Those tracks have only been heard by Andrew and his musicians.”

The recordings are reportedly still unfinished, with final mixes yet to be completed. Even Sharon, who managed Ozzy’s career, has apparently not heard what the finished versions might sound like.

The source added:

“The final mixes have not even been finished. They remain works in progress and to be considered for the movie.

“Sharon doesn’t even know what the final mixes will sound like.

“But the likelihood is that they will come to play some part in the biopic, which would be incredible.

“Unheard songs from Ozzy from beyond the grave is something he would have loved.”

Ozzy Osbourne biopic is still in development

The film is being overseen by Sharon and Jack, although there is no confirmed release date and the project remains in development.

A source told The Sun that the script is being brought towards its final draft, while Sony Pictures is looking for directors.

Sharon is also said to be considering who could portray her on screen, with the role requiring an actor capable of capturing her personality and the challenges she faced alongside Ozzy.

Jack recently offered an update on the casting process, suggesting discussions have already taken place over who might play his father.

Speaking to E! News, he said:

“Conversations have been had, and we’re very [excited] — if it all works out. It’s gonna be awesome.”

Jack Osbourne wants the film to give fans what they want

Jack has also spoken about his determination to make a film that celebrates his father’s legacy while giving audiences the kind of story they expect from an Ozzy Osbourne biopic.

He explained that the family has repeatedly stressed the importance of putting fans at the centre of the project.

“I have this mantra, and I always say it, when in meetings with my mom or doing anything with the family business. It’s, ‘give the fans what they want.’ That’s our people. That’s who we’re catering for. That’s what my dad wrote music for. That’s what he toured for. It’s why we did the shows we did. It’s been a big theme.

“We’re doing the Ozzy movie with Sony, and I’m always saying in the meetings, ‘We have to give the fans what they want’. We can’t make this artsy, kind of esoteric biopic. No, we’re not doing that, for many reasons, but it’s not what the fans want.”

If the two unfinished recordings do make it into the film, they would offer fans a previously unheard piece of Ozzy’s musical legacy. For now, however, their inclusion remains a possibility rather than a confirmed part of the soundtrack.
