From Amr Diab To Wegz: New Alamein Festival Returns With Six Weeks Of Music And Culture

Egypt’s summer mega-festival is back. The New Alamein Festival returns for its third edition, running from 18 July – 29 August, with a heavyweight lineup of Arabic music stars and a packed calendar of cultural events.

Held in the brand-new U-ARENA in the Heritage District of New Alamein City, this year’s edition will once again transform Egypt’s North Coast into a cultural destination, with thousands of fans expected to attend shows by Amr Diab, Angham, Assala Nasri, Tamer Hosny, Wegz, Marwan Pablo, Cairokee, and more.

Organised by Tazkarti and presented by United Media Services (UMS), the six-week event is fast becoming the biggest festival in Egypt and the wider Middle East, spotlighting Egypt’s rapid tourism development and showcasing the region’s music industry on a global stage.

New Alamein City

The U-ARENA is a newly launched venue built specifically for the festival. Located in New Alamein’s heritage zone, the arena can accommodate thousands and will serve as the central hub for concerts, theatre, sport, and family-friendly attractions.

The arena is part of a wider transformation of New Alamein City, one of Egypt’s fastest-growing tourism and investment zones, attracting over one million summer visitors last year alone.

Some are returning after last year’s success, while others are making their New Alamein debut in 2025.

While the concerts are the main draw, New Alamein Festival is also known for its diverse cultural programming, with past editions including exclusive theatre performances, art exhibitions, sports competitions, and culinary events.

The 2024 edition drew visitors from over 100 nationalities, reinforcing the festival’s status as a major international attraction.

Backed by Egypt’s cultural ambitions

With sponsorship from Telecom Egypt, Egypt Post, City Edge Developments, and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority, the New Alamein Festival is also part of Egypt’s broader push to position its coastal cities as year-round destinations for arts, tourism, and economic investment.

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has publicly praised the festival for promoting Egypt’s culture and creative industries while driving tourism on the North Coast.
