Daniel Bedingfield is heading to Dubai for the first time, with a one night only live show confirmed for the Bla Bla Tent at JBR on 17 April.
The New Zealand born, South London raised singer became one of the defining pop voices of the early 2000s. His debut single Gotta Get Thru This went straight to No.1 in the UK in 2001 and set the tone for a run of hits that followed, including If You’re Not the One, Never Gonna Leave Your Side, James Dean (I Wanna Know) and Nothing Hurts Like Love. Between them, those songs soundtracked an era of radio, clubs and emotional late night playlists.
While Bedingfield has kept a lower profile as a solo artist in recent years, he has stayed deeply involved in music. He has worked as a producer and songwriter for other artists and appeared as a judge on The X Factor New Zealand, all while continuing to perform selectively around the world.
Ahead of the Dubai date, Bedingfield shared his excitement about finally bringing his music to the city:
“I’m so excited to finally perform in Dubai. Music is meant to be shared, felt, and experienced together, and I can’t wait to bring these songs to life with a Dubai audience for the very first time.”
The show forms part of a busy spring programme at Bla Bla, which is also set to host REWIND Festival, The Buena Vista All Stars, and SYNTHONY alongside Faithless Sound System in the coming months. With its beachfront setting and intimate tent space, the venue feels like a fitting spot for a nostalgia rich singalong night.
