Niall Horan Finishing Fourth Album, New Music Expected This Year

Niall Horan has confirmed he is in the studio completing work on his fourth solo album, with new music expected to arrive later in 2026. The former One Direction singer shared the update while appearing via Zoom on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show in the UK this week.

Speaking from the studio, Horan said he is currently putting the final touches on the album, which will follow 2023’s The Show.

“I’m in here finishing it right now. So I’m in the beat lab!

I’m just finishing off some vocal bits and things like that, that I wasn’t happy with, but yeah!

I should have music some time this year. And I’m very excited about it!”

Fourth Album Nearing Completion

The upcoming record will mark Horan’s fourth solo LP. He previously debuted with Flicker in 2017, which peaked at Number 3 on the UK Albums Chart, before scoring UK Number 1 albums with Heartbreak Weather in 2020 and The Show in 2023.

While a title and release date for album four have not yet been revealed, Horan’s comments suggest the project is now in its final production stages.

New Single With Myles Smith

Horan’s studio update comes shortly after the release of his new collaboration Drive Safe with British singer-songwriter Myles Smith. The track marks Horan’s first new music since The Show.

Discussing the collaboration, Horan admitted he felt pressure stepping into a song that was deeply personal to Smith.

“It’s tough when someone asks you to do this because, it’s very close to his heart, something like very serious to him.

And for me to then come and write the rest of it with him was obviously a tall ask.

Then we just met up and we said we’d see what happened and we’re in the studio together and it just, it clicked.

It meant something to me, and it meant something completely different to him and that’s the great thing about these kinds of things.”

Drive Safe centres on trust, vulnerability and following your instincts, with lyrics reflecting the uncertainty of life and creative journeys.

Myles Smith On Working With Niall Horan

Myles Smith has also spoken about why the collaboration mattered to him, describing the connection behind the song.

“Collaborations only really matter to me when they come from something real, and working with Niall genuinely did.

He’s got this effortless instinct for melody, but beyond that he’s a good friend who very quickly became one of my closest.

Our friendship shaped the song, and hopefully you can feel it in every line.”
