Heeseung has left the K-pop group ENHYPEN, with the band’s management confirming the group will continue promoting as six members.
The announcement was made on 10 March 2026 by the group’s agency BELIFT LAB. The company said the decision followed internal discussions about the group’s long-term direction and Heeseung’s personal artistic goals.
Agency confirms change to enhypen line-up
In an official statement, BELIFT LAB said the change came after extensive discussions with the group about their future plans.
“BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that HEESEUNG has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”
The agency confirmed that ENHYPEN will continue as a six-member group, consisting of:
- Jay
- Jake
- Sunghoon
- Sunoo
- Jungwon
- Ni‑Ki
The company also addressed the reaction fans may have to the news.
“This decision comes after extensive deliberation. We understand that this news is a lot to process and may be received with mixed reactions. Nevertheless, we hope you understand that this decision was made for the future of ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG.”
BELIFT LAB added that the group remains committed to performing and releasing music for fans.
“ENHYPEN remains committed to sharing energetic performances with ENGENE. HEESEUNG will be preparing a solo album as an artist under BELIFT LAB.”
Heeseung thanks fans and members in personal letter
Heeseung also addressed fans directly through a personal message shared on the fan platform Weverse, reflecting on his years with the group and his plans moving forward.
“The six years I’ve spent have been filled with moments so overwhelming and precious that it’s hard to fully put them into words.”
“Thanks to the members who shared countless emotions with me and to all of you ENGENE who always filled every empty space with your support, I was able to take step after step toward a dream that once felt impossible to reach. Those times will remain as some of the brightest moments of my life. I will never forget those moments, and I want to continue being someone who supports ENHYPEN more than anyone else.”
Solo music plans already in progress
In the same message, Heeseung revealed that he has been working on personal material for some time, although he had been careful not to prioritise his own ambitions over the group’s activities.
“As ENGENE all know, I’ve continued working on my own projects and spent a lot of time hoping that one day I could show them to you. There were so many things I wanted to share, but I also didn’t want to push forward only my own desires within the team.”
He also acknowledged that the announcement may come as a shock to fans.
“Because ENGENE have always given endless love and support to someone like me who still has so much to improve on, I also feel very sorry knowing how surprised and worried you must be. But I believe those feelings come from the care and interest you have shown me.”
“I will keep moving forward with the great love you have given me engraved in my heart.”
Enhypen continues group activities
ENHYPEN debuted in 2020 after forming through the survival programme I‑Land and quickly became one of the fastest-growing K-pop acts internationally.
The group’s fanbase, known as ENGENE, spans Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East. With the lineup now reduced to six members, the band is expected to continue releasing music and performing while Heeseung prepares his solo debut.
