Ariana Grande Confirms She’s Not Quitting Music: “It’s My Lifeline”

Despite her recent success on the big screen, Ariana Grande has reassured fans that her music career isn’t going anywhere.

In a post shared to her Instagram Stories on 16 July 20215, she addressed growing speculation that she’s stepping away from music after her critically praised role as Glinda in the Wicked movies.

“Very silly of you all to assume that just because I have my hands full with many things that I plan to abandon singing & music… !!!” she wrote.

She included a video of herself performing her hit Into You at the 2025 Met Gala, making it clear that her passion for music is still front and centre.

“It is and has always been my lifeline,” she continued. “There will need to be room made for all of it. It may not look exactly like it did before but I much prefer how it looks in my head.”

Grande also teased that she’s working on a return to music in 2026.

“I feel grateful and excited and inspired. Finding a balance, between many projects and endeavours I love, and doing it my own way… so I’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year. Even if it’s just for a little. I love you.”

Ariana’s expanding acting career

Grande’s post comes during a particularly busy period in her acting career. Her performance in Wicked, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, has been widely celebrated.

In addition to Wicked, Grande has been cast in Chu’s animated take on the Dr. Seuss classic Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, alongside Frozen star Josh Gad. The film is set for release in March 2028.

And it doesn’t stop there. She’s reportedly lined up to star opposite Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in a new sequel to Meet the Parents, currently in early development.
