“Art Imitating Life”: Harry Styles Breaks Four-Year Silence As New Single Aperture Lands

Harry Styles has ended a four-year media silence, appearing on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr to mark the release of his new single, Aperture.

Speaking about his return, Styles said the timing finally felt right after living with the finished album away from the spotlight.

“It feels really exciting [to be back]. I’d finished the album, lived with it for a while, and it felt like the music was ready. I was excited to play it to people.”

The album, out on 6 March, was shaped during a deliberate step back from public life. Styles explained that Aperture naturally became the lead track because it set the tone for everything that followed.

“When I would play it to people, this was always the first song. It became track one because it’s what I wanted people to hear first.”

The conversation also touched on his now widely shared mantra, “Kiss all the time. Disco, occasionally”, which Styles described as a reflection of how he’s lived over the past few years.

“It’s a life mantra. Loving your way through life, then taking a break every now and again to have some fun. That balance led to positive changes for me. It’s just art imitating life.”

Before signing off, Styles offered a glimpse into his upcoming Together, Together tour, which runs from May to December.

“The tour is about being together. I want it to feel like I’m down there dancing with you, here for the same reason you are.”

The tour will span 50 shows across seven cities, including 30 nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden and six nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.
