
BLACKPINK are rumoured to be gearing up for their first mini-album in five years, with industry insiders suggesting a November 2025 release.
South Korean outlet My Daily Korea reported that the K-pop group’s next EP could land later this year. YG Entertainment responded to the speculation, telling Newsen:
“We will announce it later through official promotions.”
The report also claimed that JENNIE, ROSÉ, LISA and JISOO plan to work on more new material during their break from the Deadline World Tour, which pauses this month before resuming in October.
First mini-album since “Kill This Love”
If confirmed, the project would be BLACKPINK’s first EP since 2019’s Kill This Love. Their most recent full-length release was the 2022 album Born Pink. In July this year, the group returned with JUMP, a Diplo-produced single and their first new music since each member launched a successful solo career.
ROSÉ reacts to VMA nomination sweep
While fans wait for official album news, ROSÉ is celebrating a major personal milestone. The singer has picked up eight nominations at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year and Song of the Year for her Bruno Mars collaboration APT., and Best K-pop for Toxic Til the End from her solo album Rosie.
“So I’ve just heard that I’ve received eight VMA nominations. I am beyond shocked and I just don’t know what to say. I’m absolutely speechless! This is a crazy day! Whoa! It’s really, really wild! What’s happening?!” she told fans via Instagram Stories.
In the Best K-pop category, ROSÉ will go up against her own bandmates. JENNIE is nominated for like JENNIE, JISOO for earthquake, and LISA for her Doja Cat and RAYE collaboration Born Again.
