Blondie Announce High Noon, Their First Album In Nine Years

Blondie

Blondie have announced High Noon, their first new album since 2017’s Pollinator and their final record to feature co-founding drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025. The album will arrive on 26 February 2027, with lead single “Spectral Eyes” available now.

Originally written and released as a solo track by Johnny Marr in 2018, “Spectral Eyes” leads the band’s long-awaited return to new music.

Debbie Harry Says High Noon Captures Blondie’s Evolution

Frontwoman Debbie Harry described the album as a blend of the band’s familiar influences and their current creative direction.

“This album is classic Blondie – an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new.

This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”

Guitarist and co-founder Chris Stein also reflected on the band’s continued journey.

“It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the f*** I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”

Inside Blondie’s New Album

Work on High Noon began in New York in 2022, with the band developing the songs together in the studio alongside producer John Congleton. The sessions aimed to preserve a raw, energetic sound, with additional production and mixing by David Wrench.

Longtime visual collaborator Rob Roth has developed the album campaign’s aesthetic, combining elements of Blondie’s history with a cinematic, forward-looking style. Roth describes the approach as existing “between the past, present and future.”

The 13-track album draws on different sides of the band’s sound. “Heartbreak Kid” leans towards their downtown roots, while “Sleepwalking” brings a punk edge with input from Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock. The record also features a modern reimagining of “Little Metal Drummer.”

Harry has also recently questioned the idea of Blondie continuing under the band name without its original members, saying she is “against the idea” of performing without the “original guys” who helped shape the group’s identity.
