BTS Return To The Global Stage With Landmark Seoul Comeback Concert

BTS in Seoul

BTS made their long awaited return to the stage on 21 March 2026, performing BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG in Seoul in front of 104,000 fans at Gwanghwamun Square, with millions more watching via Netflix.

The 60 minute show marked the group’s first full live performance together in nearly four years, following their hiatus and completion of mandatory military service.

A large scale comeback set against historic seoul

Staged against Gyeongbokgung Palace, the concert blended traditional Korean elements with modern production.

The show opened with a fusion of traditional instrumentation and electronic sound design, as 50 dancers formed a ceremonial pathway before the group appeared on stage.

RM greeted the crowd:

“Hello, Seoul! We’re back.”

Setlist led by new album Arirang

The 12 song set focused heavily on BTS’s latest album Arirang, their first full release in six years.

Opening track Body to Body sampled the traditional Korean folk song Arirang, setting the tone for a performance rooted in cultural identity.

Visual production throughout the show incorporated symbolic elements, including trigrams inspired by the South Korean flag, representing balance across natural forces.

New era of performance and sound

New material played a central role in the show’s direction.

Lead single SWIM introduced a more restrained and deliberate choreography style, reflecting a shift in the group’s artistic approach.

Fan favourites Butter and Dynamite remained part of the set, providing contrast with the newer material.

The performance closed with Mikrokosmos, accompanied by large scale projection mapping across the palace walls, transforming the venue into a field of light.

A new documentary, BTS: The Return, directed by Bao Nguyen, is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on 27 March 2026, offering behind the scenes insight into the group’s comeback.

Global tour confirmed through 2027

The Seoul show launches the BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’, an 82 date global tour spanning 34 regions and running through to 2027.

With a large scale production, new music and a full group return, the concert signals the start of BTS’s next phase on the global stage.
