UK boy band December 10 say their bond has become so tight that they now spend almost every moment together, just months after forming on The Next Act.
The seven-piece group, made up of Cruz Lee-Ojo, Danny Bretherton, Hendrik Christoffersen, John Fadare, Josh Olliver, Nicolas Alves and Seán Hayden, publicly formed on the show created by Simon Cowell around three months ago. Since then, the band have completed their first tour and released their latest single, Angel, on 6 March 2026.
Speaking about the group’s chemistry, the members say the creative process has come together naturally both in the studio and on set.
“We’re noticing that everything just works pretty naturally. Whenever we’re in the recording studio or shooting a video, things just seem to fall into place.”
A band that quickly became inseparable
The rapid formation of the group has also led to a strong personal bond between members.
“Sometimes it’s like the only time we don’t see each other is when we sleep!”
Despite their different musical influences, the band say those contrasts have actually helped shape their sound rather than complicate the recording process.
“There are seven different vocals that get recorded and it sounds like we could be making seven different songs… but then you comp them and it comes together in a unique way that just works.”
Another member added that most of the time the group share the same creative vision.
“We’re usually on the same page when it comes to our music.”
Aiming to carve a new path for modern boy bands
The group say they are aware of the long history of boy bands in pop music but want to establish a distinct identity.
“Boy bands have got a really rich part in music history… we just want to make our own path and do it in a December 10 way.”
Members also point to their individual personalities as a key factor in how the band is evolving.
“I hope that people see that we’re here doing something new.”
“We want to speak for our generation and put positive energy out there.”
Early fan reaction and viral growth
The band’s debut single Run My Way has already generated a strong fan response, particularly at live shows.
“Supporters waited for hours in the cold just to see us after shows.”
The speed at which the fanbase has grown has surprised the group.
“To have this fan base in such a short amount of time… it’s astonishing.”
Social media and support from Tom Grennan
Like many emerging artists, the band say social media has been central to building their audience, particularly on TikTok and Instagram.
“Platforms like TikTok and Instagram are our main source of engagement with our fans.”
The group have also caught the attention of fellow UK artist Tom Grennan, who praised the band and even jokingly claimed victory after a friendly race with one of the members.
“Smoked him.”
New single “Angel”
With the release of Angel on 6 March 2026, the group say they plan to continue experimenting with their sound and exploring different genres.
“Expect the unexpected… we’re wanting to go down different routes and try to cross different genres.”
