Introducing the song, Styles reflected on losing his friend and encouraged fans to look after one another.

“Two years ago today, I lost one of those friends. I’m sure a lot of you have been through similar things. I hope you haven’t. But really, it’s just about looking after each other.”

He then explained the personal significance of the unreleased track.

“There are so many people who have touched my life in such special ways that I wouldn’t be here without. I’m gonna play you a song I wrote for my friend about two years ago, if that’s all right.”

Styles went on to perform “What Is Enough”, an acoustic song featuring lyrics that reflect on loss and remembrance.

“I’m not wise enough

But I wrote you a letter just to burn it up

And watch it rise like you’re in the sky.”

A clip of the performance was shared by Billboard.
