Harry Styles has set the internet humming after a series of cryptic posters appeared across major cities worldwide, strongly hinting that his long-awaited fourth album is finally on the way.
The billboards have surfaced in New York, Manchester, Berlin, Palermo, São Paulo, Madrid and beyond. Each features the phrase “we belong together” layered over an image of a packed stadium, taken from the final date of Styles’ Love On Tour run in 2023. At the same time, a minimalist website using the same branding quietly went live.
Clicking through leads fans into a WhatsApp group titled HSHQ, short for Harry Styles Headquarters, which many see as a deliberate throwback to old-school fan club culture. For an artist who has been largely silent musically for four years, the timing feels anything but accidental.
A comeback after a long pause
Styles has not released a studio album since Harry’s House in 2022, a record that won both Brit and Grammy Awards and produced era-defining singles including As It Was, Late Night Talking and Music For A Sushi Restaurant.
Since then, he has kept a relatively low profile, aside from an unexpected foray into marathon running. In 2024, Styles completed both the Tokyo and Berlin Marathons, clocking a notably strong 2 hours 59 minutes in Berlin. He was also spotted at St Peter’s Square during the announcement of the new pope, and reportedly spent time in Cheshire over Christmas with actor Zoë Kravitz.
Despite the public quiet, Styles is believed to have been working steadily behind the scenes. Studio sessions were first reported in August 2024 when he was seen arriving at London’s RAK Studios. Australian radio hosts later claimed the album was finished and written entirely on a typewriter, though even fans treated that detail with caution.
The video that tied it all together
Styles first hinted that something was coming on 27 December, when he uploaded an eight-minute video titled Forever, Forever to YouTube. The film opens with fans preparing for the final Love On Tour show in Reggio Emilia, Italy, rehearsing dance routines, swapping friendship bracelets and visibly struggling with the idea that the tour was ending.
“Some sadness because it is the last show… then he will disappear,” one fan says on camera.
“We won’t see him dancing on stages anymore,” adds another.
The clip then cuts to Styles seated at a piano on stage, dressed in a glittering open vest and trousers. Speaking in Italian, he tells the crowd, “I wrote this for you,” before performing a wordless instrumental piece written specifically for the occasion.
As he finishes and waves goodbye, the phrase “We Belong Together” appears on screen, directly linking the video to the new poster campaign now rolling out globally.
What do the posters mean?
While many posters display only the central slogan, others include short additional phrases that fans believe may be lyrics or song titles. Sightings so far include:
It’s All Waiting There
Let the Light In
Here We Go Again
See You Very Soon
Different cities carry different lines, with Berlin and Warsaw featuring Let the Light In, Manchester and Madrid displaying Here We Go Again, and several Italian cities using variations of It’s All Waiting There.
On Reddit and fan forums, speculation is already intense. One recurring theory centres on a newly spotted symbol tied to the campaign, a circle with twelve arrows radiating from its centre, which some believe hints at a twelve-track album.
Album or something else?
There is still no official confirmation that a new record is imminent. Some fans have suggested the campaign could point to a concert film documenting the end of Love On Tour, rather than a full studio release.
That said, multiple US outlets have reported that Styles has signed a deal for a residency at Madison Square Garden, where he previously played 15 shows during his last tour. Rumours have also linked him to a possible residency at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena, a venue he is known to have invested in and which will host this year’s Brit Awards.
Whether the posters lead to an album announcement, a film, or something else entirely, the reaction has been immediate and emotional.
“It’s happening?!” wrote one fan, echoing thousands of similar posts across social platforms.
For now, Harry Styles is saying very little. But after four years away from new music, even that feels like part of the plan.
