Kasabian have released their new single Great Pretender, offering a second preview of their upcoming album Act III, due on 17 July 2026.
The track follows their recent collaboration with Calvin Harris on Release The Pressure, and arrives as anticipation builds around the band’s ninth studio record.
Great Pretender delivers a heavier second preview
While previous single Hippie Sunshine introduced Act III with a more laid-back tone, Great Pretender shifts gears completely.
Co-written by Serge Pizzorno and produced alongside Mark Ralph, the track leans into driving guitars and a high-energy structure designed for live performance.
The band position it as a key moment in the album’s dynamic range, moving from atmosphere into something more immediate and direct.
Serge Pizzorno on the track’s meaning
Speaking about the single, Pizzorno explained the idea behind the song:
“that split second before you jump — the moment you realise the fear means you’re exactly where you should be.”
Act III album details and sound
Act III marks Kasabian’s ninth studio album and follows a run of seven consecutive UK No.1 records.
The project was recorded between The Sergery and Club Ralph, and blends psych-influenced textures with guitar-led production and Pizzorno’s vocal style.
The album features ten main tracks and three interludes.
