Madonna has thanked fans following the chart success of her latest album, Confessions II, saying she is “grateful and surprised” by the response after the record debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200.

The Queen of Pop shared a message on Instagram on Monday 13 July 2026 alongside a series of photos from the album’s promotional campaign, reflecting on the record’s strong global reception.

Madonna thanks fans after Confessions II reaches Number One

In her post, Madonna admitted she had been overwhelmed by the reaction to the album.

“Words cannot express how grateful and surprised I am by the incredible reception Confessions on a Dance Floor has received.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this and who has helped make this dream come true. Especially my fans. The goodwill and positivity have been incredible.”

She added that the success still feels surreal.

“I’m still pinching myself. I can’t believe my album has gone to Number One all around the world.”

Confessions II extends Madonna’s chart legacy

Confessions II marks Madonna’s first chart-topping album of the 2020s, arriving more than two decades after Confessions on a Dance Floor became one of the defining pop albums of the mid-2000s.

The achievement also extends her remarkable chart career, which began with Like a Virgin in 1984. Madonna has now amassed 10 Number One albums on the Billboard 200 and remains the only artist to have scored at least one chart-topping album in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.

Madonna says her goal was simple

Closing her message, Madonna said the album was always intended to bring some positivity to listeners.

“My dream was to make people dance this summer! To bring people joy! Dreams do come true.”
