Morrissey has cancelled his planned Las Vegas residency just days before its scheduled opening, with the singer citing “unforeseen logistical issues” for the decision.
The former Smiths frontman was due to perform four shows at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas on August 14, 15, 18 and 19, 2026. Ticket holders were informed that the concerts will no longer take place.
Morrissey’s Las Vegas shows cancelled
An email sent to ticket holders confirmed that all four performances had been cancelled.
“Hello, we regret to inform you that Morrissey – Live in Concert, scheduled for August 14, 15, 18, and 19 at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, has been cancelled.
“Due to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place.”
The shows have since been removed from Wynn Las Vegas’ entertainment listings, while Ticketmaster displays a cancellation notice stating:
“Unfortunately, the Event Organiser has had to cancel your event.”
No further details about the logistical problems have been publicly disclosed.
Morrissey has cancelled multiple shows in recent years
The cancellation adds to a lengthy list of postponed or cancelled Morrissey performances.
The 67-year-old singer cancelled 22 scheduled shows in 2025, with previously announced reasons including an adverse reaction to prescription medication and circumstances described as being “completely beyond our control”.
His live schedule has also been affected by cancellations in 2026.
Valencia concert cancelled after sleep deprivation
In March, Morrissey cancelled a scheduled concert in Valencia, Spain, after saying he had been unable to sleep because of noise from the city’s Las Fallas festival.
A statement published on Morrissey Central described the conditions following his arrival in Valencia.
“Having travelled for two days by road, Morrissey reached the hotel in Valencia late on Wednesday (11.03.26). Any form of sleep or rest throughout the night was impossible due to festival noise/ loud techno singing/ megaphone announcements.
“This experience has left Morrissey in a catatonic state. Before leaving for tonight’s scheduled concert, please check that the show remains possible under these circumstances.”
A subsequent statement confirmed that the concert would not go ahead.
“Tonight’s scheduled show in Valencia has been rendered impossible due to sleep deprivation. Morrissey drove from Milan to Valencia but has been unable to rest in Valencia due to noise.
“The show is not cancelled. Circumstances render the show impossible.”
Morrissey also described his hotel in Plaza Manises as an:
“indescribable hell”.
He added:
“It will take me one year to recover. And that is an understatement.”
What happens to Morrissey’s Las Vegas tickets?
Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled Encore Theater shows should follow the refund instructions provided by the ticket seller or event organiser.
The four Las Vegas performances were scheduled for August 14, 15, 18 and 19, meaning the cancellation comes only days before the residency was due to begin.
At the time of writing, no replacement Las Vegas dates have been announced.
