MUNA Announce New Album Dancing On The Wall, Share Title Track And Release Date

MUNA have confirmed their fourth studio album, Dancing On The Wall, will be released on May 8, with the band unveiling the title track and its official video at the same time.

The announcement marks the trio’s first major release since their 2022 self-titled album and sets the tone for a new chapter that leans into movement, emotion and independence.

New single offers first look at MUNA’s next era

Alongside the album news, MUNA shared Dancing On The Wall, a track the band describe as central to the record’s identity.

“Dancing On The Wall is possibly our favorite song we’ve made as a band. We think it’s all the best parts of MUNA – it’s coming from a really emotional and lonely place, but the song itself makes us feel powerful and euphoric. It’s written in the moment that the clock strikes midnight at the ball, and you have to give up the fantasy. In this case, it’s the fantasy of loving someone or something that can’t love you back.”

The song arrives with a video that visually introduces the album’s mood and aesthetic. An official video embed would sit well here.

Release-week shows confirmed in LA, New York and London

To mark the album launch, MUNA will play a run of small-capacity underplay shows in Los Angeles, New York and London during release week. These dates offer a rare chance to see the band up close before they return to larger venues later in the year.

Ticket details and on-sale timings are available via the band’s official channels. A tour dates embed or ticket widget would add value here.

Produced in-house, built for the dancefloor

Dancing On The Wall is a 13-track album produced by band member Naomi McPherson, giving MUNA full creative control over the project. While the record is rooted in movement and rhythm, it keeps the band’s emotional directness front and centre.

The album follows MUNA (2022), their first release as an independent band after signing with Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records imprint in 2021.

From support slots to headline status

Completed by Katie Gavin and Josette Maskin, MUNA’s rise has been steady and visible. They were personally selected by Harry Styles as the opening act on his first solo tour and have since shared stages with Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour, as well as Lorde, boygenius and Phoebe Bridgers.

Those touring moments have helped position MUNA as a main-stage act in their own right, with Dancing On The Wall shaping up as their most confident release yet.
