Oasis are preparing new material for their planned 2027 tour, marking what would be their first new songs since 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul. The band reunited last year for a run of sold-out stadium shows, ending a 16-year absence from the stage.

They are not expected to tour again until next year, but new music is reportedly in development.

According to The Sun on Sunday’s Bizarre column, Noel and Liam Gallagher are currently taking time off following the reunion dates, with studio work planned during the break.

A source told the newspaper:

“Noel and Liam are taking a well-deserved break from the road this year to recuperate.

“But they know the fans are hungry for more so they want to strike while the iron is hot.”

The insider added:

“Noel has been busy writing and they have all year to record. He was really inspired last year and is full of ideas.”

If confirmed, the new tracks would be Oasis’ first studio recordings together since their seventh album, Dig Out Your Soul, released in October 2008.

Noel Gallagher confirms studio sessions

Guitarist and chief songwriter Noel Gallagher recently confirmed he has returned to the studio. Speaking to TalkSport, he joked that criticism over his upcoming Brit Awards honour had pushed him back into recording mode.

“I’m in the studio now, but I better put something out. I’ve been shamed.”

Noel is set to receive the Songwriter of the Year award at the Brit Awards, which will be held in Manchester for the first time.

He suggested the location may have influenced the decision:

“I haven’t written a song for two years. I’m not sure how I’ve got away with that one but I’ll take it.

“To be honest I think they were just desperate to get someone from Oasis up there because it’s Manchester. Our kid said he’s not going.”

Addressing criticism over the award, he added:

“Well, I think the Brits is all based on record sales.

“We sold a million records last year. Didn’t even get off the couch and I’m not sure there’s a songwriter that can match that.

“But you know, if anybody’s got a problem with it, meet me there. We’ll have it out on the red carpet.”

He also said:

“If any of those wet-wipe songwriting teams, all 11 of them, want to write a song between the lot of them, want to have it out on the red carpet, I’m there.”

The report also claims that Miles Kane will support Oasis at several dates on the 2027 tour.

No official announcement has been made regarding release dates or tour specifics. However, with Noel confirming he is back in the studio and reports suggesting a full year available for recording, new Oasis material could arrive ahead of the next live run.
