TikTok has expanded its music discovery features with a major new partnership: SoundCloud is now integrated into TikTok’s Add To Music App.
The feature, which allows users to save tracks they discover on TikTok directly to their favourite streaming platforms, has already become a go-to tool for music fans. Since its global launch in 2024, it’s generated over one billion track saves across services like Spotify, Apple Music, and now SoundCloud, contributing to billions more streams across the board.
“TikTok and SoundCloud are the go-to platforms for tastemakers and early music discovery, consistently shaping the trends that drive music listening worldwide,” a joint statement read.
With the new integration, TikTok users can now save songs they discover directly to their Liked Tracks playlist on SoundCloud. The feature will roll out to all users globally in the coming weeks.
Emmy Lovell, global head of music at SoundCloud, said:
“SoundCloud has always been the go-to platform for discovering what’s next in music, from emerging artists to breakout genres. Partnering with TikTok makes it easier than ever for fans to save the songs they love and stay connected with the artists behind them. This integration helps turn casual listeners into lifelong superfans while strengthening our commitment to fueling the next generation of music culture.”
A Seamless Music Journey
The timing of the announcement also aligns with SoundCloud’s latest tool, Move Your Music, a feature that lets users transfer their entire music library, including playlists and liked songs, from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube Music, Deezer and Amazon Music.
By joining TikTok’s Add To Music App ecosystem, SoundCloud is doubling down on its identity as a launchpad for new music and unsigned artists.
Lindsey Kelt Zikry, TikTok’s global product partnerships lead, added:
“Tens of millions of TikTok users take advantage of the Add To Music App feature to save the music they discover to their favourite streaming platform. We are thrilled to be partnering with SoundCloud – the leading platform helping artists bring their music from concept to audience – to support emerging and aspiring artists in reaching new fans and superfans on TikTok.”
The Add To Music App button appears next to a track name at the bottom of TikTok videos in the For You feed, or on an artist’s Sound Detail page. Tapping the ‘Add Song’ button lets users instantly save a track to their preferred service, now including SoundCloud.
