The Rolling Stones Tease New Album Foreign Tongues With Cryptic “Cockroaches” Campaign

Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are preparing to release a new studio album titled Foreign Tongues, with the first track, Mr Charm, expected to arrive on 11 April 2026.

The project will follow 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, marking the band’s next major release as they continue their late-career resurgence.

New music ready as release date approaches

According to reports, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have already completed the album, with work spanning multiple sessions and final refinements.

The Rolling Stones album has been in the can for some time now.

A lot of it was written and recorded a while back but there has been a lot of fine-tuning to make it perfect.

They were back in Metropolis Studios in West London last year and now it’s ready to go.”

While the band are expected to take part in select promotional appearances, there are currently no confirmed touring plans.

“The guys are aware they aren’t getting any younger so some people are seeing this as a final album — but who knows with the Stones?

They will be making some appearances together to promote it but there’s not going to be a tour yet.”

“The Cockroaches” mystery fuels fan speculation

Ahead of any formal announcement, fans have been drawn into a cryptic teaser campaign linked to the band.

Posters bearing the name “The Cockroaches” have appeared in public spaces, accompanied by QR codes directing users to a dedicated website. The campaign has been amplified by WhatsApp messages sent to subscribers, featuring the line:

“Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name.”

A reference to the band’s classic track Sympathy For The Devil.

Music journalist Matt Everitt highlighted a possible historical link, noting:

“I could be falling for an elaborate April Fool’s hoax, or I could have dropped down a rabbit hole of obscure Stones folklaw, but this would appear to be some form of cryptic @therollingstones announcement, right?”

The alias may reference a little-known period in the early 1980s when the band reportedly used the name Blue Sunday And The Cockroaches.

Clues point to official Rolling Stones rollout

Further investigation suggests the campaign is tied to an official release strategy.

Journalist Simon Harper examined the teaser site and its connections to the band’s label.

“The QR code takes you to thecockroaches.com, and a holding page that shows a sparse ‘70s bedroom complete with various ephemera dotted around – some plectrums, concert tickets, and vinyl records – plus a poster for The Cockroaches and a clock stuck on April 11th.”

“All quite random so far, I hear you say, but the website – as with the Hackney Diamonds one – is copyrighted to Universal Music, the Stones’ label…”

The visual references and backend ownership point towards a coordinated campaign similar to the rollout for Hackney Diamonds.

Fans are watching closely

With Mr Charm expected imminently and the Foreign Tongues campaign gathering momentum, fans are now watching closely for an official confirmation.

For a band that has spent decades mastering reinvention, the mix of nostalgia, mystery and digital engagement suggests another carefully staged return.
