Rosalía will be honoured with the International Songwriter of the Year award at the Ivor Novello Awards in London on 21 May 2026.
The award recognises the global impact of her songwriting over the past year, particularly in the UK, following the release of her 2025 album LUX.
Why Rosalía is being recognised
Organisers praised Rosalía’s ability to move across genres and languages, highlighting the scope of her recent work.
“Her songwriting moving fluidly across form, language and genre, creating work that feels both deeply authentic and distinctly original,”
They also credited LUX as a standout project, noting that the album was written in 13 different languages and has helped her reach a wider global audience.
Ceremony details and industry recognition
The 71st edition of the awards, also known as The Ivors, will take place at Grosvenor House in London.
Roberto Neri said:
“We are proud to celebrate ROSALÍA as International Songwriter of the Year. Her songwriting has captured the hearts and minds of audiences around the globe. With lyrics in over 13 languages, Rosalia has broken down barriers and borders, and I’m delighted she will be celebrated by our community and industry as she picks up her first Ivor Novello Award. This recognition reflects our growing global outlook and celebrates songwriters defining music and culture.”
Recent awards and momentum
Rosalía’s latest accolade follows a strong run of industry recognition. In February, she won International Artist of the Year at the BRIT Awards, and was also named Woman of the Year at the Billboard Latin Women in Music earlier this month.
She succeeds Charli XCX, who received the Songwriter of the Year award at last year’s ceremony.
