Sabrina Carpenter has reflected on her surprise performance with Stevie Nicks at the 2026 Met Gala, saying the experience “healed many things” in her.
The pair performed together during the 4 May gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, delivering renditions of Landslide and Don’t Stop to guests gathered inside the Temple of Dendur.
Sabrina Carpenter shares emotional reaction
Following the event, Carpenter posted a message on Instagram thanking Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Vogue and the Met Museum for inviting her to perform.
“Thank you Anna [Wintour], @voguemagazine and @metmuseum for having me perform and giving me a beautiful new friend @stevienicks.”
She added:
“Singing together healed many things in me!”
Met Gala duet followed Madonna collaboration
The performance with Nicks came just weeks after Carpenter joined Madonna onstage at Coachella, where the pair debuted their duet Bring Your Love from Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II.
During the Coachella appearance, Carpenter and Madonna performed Vogue and Like A Prayer before unveiling the new track together.
After the song’s release, Carpenter encouraged fans to step away from their phones and enjoy the music in real life.
“Thank you Madonna for inviting me to be a part of Confessions II.”
“I hope you all enjoy it and take a break from phone and go out and dance!”
Confessions II arrives in july
Confessions II is produced by Madonna alongside longtime collaborator Stuart Price, the producer behind 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor.
The new album is scheduled for release on July 3 and is expected to continue the dance-pop direction associated with Madonna and Price’s earlier collaborations.
Stevie Nicks made first Met Gala appearance
The Met Gala performance also marked Nicks’ first-ever appearance at the event. The Fleetwood Mac icon wore a custom midnight-blue gown designed by John Galliano for Zara, complete with her trademark top hat and layered bohemian styling.
Carpenter, meanwhile, wore a Dior dress inspired by vintage film strips from the 1954 Sabrina starring Audrey Hepburn.
