Previously unseen footage of George Michael’s iconic Faith Tour is heading to cinemas around the world later this year as part of a new concert film celebrating one of pop music’s defining live performances.
Universal Pictures Content Group and Bleecker Street’s event cinema division, Crosswalk, have acquired the international and North American rights to George Michael: The Faith Tour, which captures the late singer performing in Paris during the European leg of his landmark 1988 Faith Tour.
Never-before-seen concert footage restored
Directed by longtime George Michael collaborators Andy Morahan, who directed the videos for Faith and Careless Whisper, and David Austin, director of George Michael Freedom Uncut, the film features recently rediscovered footage from Michael’s concert at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy.
Alongside the restored performance, the documentary includes a previously unheard interview with George Michael and a collection of rare photographs, offering new insight into the singer at the height of his global success.
Worldwide cinema release planned for late 2026
George Michael: The Faith Tour is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in late 2026, with exclusive early-access IMAX screenings in the United States.
Cinema screenings will also include an original short film by filmmaker and photographer Mary McCartney, best known for directing the music documentary If These Walls Could Sing.
Live album to accompany the film
To coincide with the film’s release, George Michael Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment will issue The Faith Tour live album.
The 18-track collection features previously unreleased live recordings from the tour, including performances of songs from Michael’s multi-million-selling solo catalogue alongside favourites from his time with Wham!
George Michael’s legacy returns to the big screen

The Faith Tour followed the release of George Michael’s landmark debut solo album, Faith, which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and helped establish him as one of the biggest artists in the world.
