Madonna and Kylie Minogue have officially released “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix) – Madonna and Kylie”, ending years of speculation about a studio collaboration between the two pop icons.

The remix arrived on streaming platforms after making its live debut during Madonna’s Club Confessions, presented by MISTR, at WorldPride in Amsterdam. The release follows the success of “I Feel So Free”, which topped the dance charts.

Fans finally get a Madonna and Kylie collaboration

Rumours of a Madonna and Kylie Minogue collaboration have circulated for years, particularly during speculation surrounding Madonna’s Confessions II project.

Kylie previously dismissed reports that she had recorded music for the album.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, she said:

“That’s a random thing.

“There was a rumour I was on her album, but I’m not.”

Despite denying any involvement at the time, Kylie admitted she was eager to hear the project.

“I’m excited to hear it all!”

Collaboration follows memorable Celebration Tour appearance

The pair shared the stage during Madonna’s Celebration Tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in March 2024, a performance that reignited calls for a studio collaboration.

Speaking to People magazine after the concert, Kylie revealed no discussions had taken place about recording together.

“Obviously I would [collaborate with Madonna].

“So, there’s been no discussion, but if it were to happen, that would be great.”

Kylie later described the performance as a special moment for both artists.

“That was an incredible night and an incredible moment. And a lot of people had been waiting a long time, probably including us, but I thought that was just perfect.”

During the concert, Madonna and Kylie performed Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” alongside Kylie’s hit “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”.

Reflecting on the performance, Kylie added:

“It wasn’t a big choreography. It was just two performers, two women, two people that, without having to say much, you can understand some of each other’s journeys.

“[We wanted] to lift each other up and celebrate each other.”

Madonna praised Kylie during the live performance

Introducing Kylie to the audience during the Celebration Tour show, Madonna spoke about her admiration for the Australian singer.

“On the subject of survival, I would like to introduce a very special guest who’s going to come up here and sing with me. Her name is Kylie Minogue.

“Now this is what we call a survivor, okay?

“I’m falling apart. Anyway, it’s a privilege for me to be up here singing with you. You are a fighter, too. God bless you. Never give up. You never did.”

Following the performance, Kylie shared a message on X celebrating the occasion.

“Madonna It’s been a long time coming!!! Loved being with you!!!! Celebration Tour and it is now International Women’s Day …. Thank you and Love Love Love.”

The release of “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix) – Madonna and Kylie” marks the first official studio collaboration between the two artists and is now available on major streaming platforms.
