Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that all three headliners for the 2027 festival have been booked, while ruling out Madonna as one of them. The festival returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset from 23 to 27 June 2027 after taking a fallow year in 2026.
Madonna will not headline Glastonbury 2027
Madonna had been widely tipped to make her Glastonbury debut after hinting in June that she had plans for a major UK event in summer 2027.
However, Eavis dismissed those rumours during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme on 14 August.
“No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that.”
Eavis confirmed that the festival has already secured its three main headliners.
“But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well.”
She was also asked whether Taylor Swift would be among the three names, but laughed and declined to comment.
Glastonbury headliners are being kept secret
Eavis warned that much of the speculation surrounding the festival should be treated cautiously.
“Pretty much 95 per cent of the stories [about Glastonbury] you read are not true, and rumours are pretty much always wrong.”
She added that organisers are now focused on preparing for the festival’s return.
Madonna’s Glastonbury rumours intensified after she appeared on The Graham Norton Show in June and teased plans for “something bigger” in summer 2027.
When asked whether the project would take place in the UK, Madonna replied:
“It could be. Why do I have to tell you everything?”
While Glastonbury is now ruled out as the destination, Madonna’s UK plans have not been confirmed.
Glastonbury returns in June 2027
The 2027 festival will take place from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June at Worthy Farm.
Glastonbury was given a fallow year in 2026, allowing the site to recover. Tickets are expected to go on sale in November.
The 2025 festival was headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, with Sir Rod Stewart performing in the Legends Slot.
Other artists previously linked with potential 2027 headline appearances include Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Little Simz, Harry Styles, Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones have also been the subject of renewed speculation after Mick Jagger and Keith Richards discussed the possibility of touring again in 2027. The band last headlined Glastonbury in 2013.
