Christina Aguilera’s concert at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi has been cancelled, with Ticketmaster confirming that the scheduled 25 September 2026 show will no longer take place. Ticket holders will receive automatic refunds to their original payment method within 21 working days.
No reason has been given for the cancellation, and no replacement date has been announced.
Christina Aguilera Abu Dhabi concert cancelled
Aguilera was due to perform at Etihad Arena on Friday 25 September, following the postponement of the concert from April.
Ticketmaster notified ticket holders on Tuesday that the show had been cancelled.
“The Christina Aguilera concert, scheduled on 25 September at Etihad Arena, will unfortunately no longer take place.”
Ticketmaster apologised for the inconvenience and said it looked forward to welcoming audiences to future events.
Fans who purchased tickets do not need to request a refund. The money will be returned automatically through the original payment method within 21 working days.
Why was Christina Aguilera’s Abu Dhabi show cancelled?
Ticketmaster has not provided a reason for the cancellation.
The concert was originally scheduled for 24 April 2026, but was postponed to September during a wider series of event changes affecting the region. Existing tickets remained valid for the new date, while refunds were made available to customers who could no longer attend.
The 25 September performance will therefore not go ahead, and there is currently no indication of whether a new Abu Dhabi date will be announced.
Christina Aguilera’s previous UAE performances
The cancelled Etihad Arena show would have marked Aguilera’s latest return to Abu Dhabi.
The singer last performed in the capital in February 2025 as part of Saadiyat Nights. The sold-out concert was her first Abu Dhabi performance in 17 years, following her appearance at Emirates Palace in October 2008.
Aguilera also performed in Dubai in March 2022 as part of the closing celebrations for Expo 2020 Dubai. She shared the final-night programme with Norah Jones and Yo-Yo Ma.
Christina Aguilera’s music career
Aguilera rose to prominence after appearing on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club alongside future stars including Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell and Ryan Gosling.
Her major breakthrough came in 1999 with “Genie in a Bottle”, which became an international hit and established her as one of the leading pop artists of her generation.
Further hits included “What a Girl Wants”, “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)”, “Beautiful”, “Dirty” and “Lady Marmalade”, her collaboration with Lil’ Kim, Mýa and Pink for the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack.
Aguilera has also worked in film, starring alongside Cher in the 2010 musical Burlesque. She has won five Grammy Awards and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Offlimits Music Festival also cancelled
The cancellation comes as Abu Dhabi’s events calendar faces further changes.
Offlimits Music Festival 2026 was also cancelled, with the event having been scheduled to take place at Etihad Park. The festival had been due to feature Shakira, the Jonas Brothers, Ne-Yo and Biffy Clyro.
Like the Aguilera concert, organisers did not provide a reason for the cancellation.
Tickets for the cancelled festival are due to be refunded automatically through the platforms where they were purchased, while organisers have indicated that Offlimits could return in 2027.
What should Christina Aguilera ticket holders do?
Ticket holders for the cancelled 25 September concert do not need to take any action to receive their refund, according to Ticketmaster.
Refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method within 21 working days.
Fans should monitor their original ticketing account and payment method for the refund. There is currently no rescheduled date for the Abu Dhabi concert.
