Dido is reportedly planning a major music comeback in 2027, with a new album in the works and her first tour in eight years expected to follow.
The “White Flag” singer has returned to the studio with her brother Rollo, the Faithless hitmaker who has worked with Dido on some of her biggest songs. According to a source quoted by The Sun’s Bizarre column, the pair are close to completing her next project.
If the plans go ahead, Dido could release new music in 2027 before returning to the stage for her first live shows since 2019.
A source told The Sun:
“It’s still early days, but the hope is that there will be new music out next year and some tour dates.”
The source added:
“That’s the plan. They would be her first shows since 2019, so it’s been a long time coming.”
Dido’s songs find a new generation on TikTok
Dido’s potential comeback comes as several of her best-known songs have found a new audience on TikTok.
“Here With Me” and “Thank You” have both experienced renewed interest on the platform, helping introduce Dido’s music to younger listeners and driving increased streaming activity.
The renewed attention could provide a timely backdrop for new music and live performances.
The source said:
“A lot’s changed since she last performed because songs like Here With Me and Thank You have gone viral on TikTok, so new fans are taking an interest in her. Getting back out there with new music will be a big moment for her.”
When did Dido last tour?
Dido’s most recent tour took place in 2019, marking her first live run in 15 years.
That tour followed the release of her fifth studio album, Still On My Mind, which arrived in March 2019.
If the reported 2027 plans come to fruition, the singer will have spent around eight years away from touring before returning to the road.
Her previous album, Girl Who Got Away, was released in 2013, meaning Still On My Mind represented Dido’s return to new music after a six-year gap.
Dido’s No Angel launched her global career
Dido’s breakthrough came with her 1999 debut album No Angel, which has sold more than 21 million copies worldwide.
The album included “Here With Me”, which became widely known after being used as the theme song for the television series Roswell. The track was also featured in the 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually.
“Thank You” became another defining song from Dido’s early career after Eminem sampled it for his 2000 hit “Stan”.
Dido subsequently appeared in the “Stan” music video as the pregnant girlfriend of Eminem’s character, while the two artists also became friends.
Life For Rent produced Dido’s biggest hits
Dido followed No Angel with Life For Rent in 2003.
The album produced two of her most recognisable songs, “White Flag” and “Life For Rent”, and continued the international success established by her debut.
Her later albums included Safe Trip Home in 2008, Girl Who Got Away in 2013 and Still On My Mind in 2019.
A new album in 2027 would therefore mark Dido’s first new studio release in several years, while a tour would bring her back to live audiences for the first time since 2019.
For now, the 2027 album and tour remain plans rather than officially announced dates, but Dido’s renewed streaming audience gives the potential comeback a strong starting point.
