Ariana Grande will step back from public-facing work after completing her Eternal Sunshine world tour later this month, with her team confirming she has also withdrawn from the upcoming West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George.
The Grammy-winning singer is expected to finish the tour with 10 scheduled shows at London’s O2 Arena, beginning on 15 August 2026, before taking what her representatives described as a “much-deserved break”.

A statement from Grande‘s representatives said the singer plans to step away from the spotlight once the tour concludes.
“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.
She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
The statement did not specify how long Grande’s break will last.
Singer withdraws from West End production
As part of the announcement, Grande’s team confirmed she will no longer appear in the planned West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at London’s Barbican Centre.
She had been due to star alongside Jonathan Bailey, her former Wicked co-star, when the production opens in summer 2027.
The show’s producers said they fully support Grande’s decision.
“Following this evening’s announcement from Ariana Grande’s team, we can confirm that she has decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George.
We know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support.
We wish her nothing but the best. The production will open at the Barbican in summer 2027 as planned, and casting will be announced in due course.”
The production will go ahead as scheduled, with a replacement for Grande to be announced at a later date.
Public scrutiny follows comments about singer’s appearance
Grande’s decision comes after a prolonged period of public discussion surrounding her appearance, particularly her weight.
Her representatives said the break follows “endless, ongoing public scrutiny”, although they did not elaborate further.
The singer has previously spoken publicly about commentary on her body, encouraging fans to avoid making assumptions about another person’s health based on their appearance.
