Newly published witness statements from two female sex workers who spent time with Liam Payne on the day of his death have provided further details about the singer’s final hours at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.
The statements, reported by the Daily Mail, describe the condition of Payne’s hotel room and his behaviour before the women left the hotel during the afternoon. Payne died at 5:07pm on the same day after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room. He was 31.
Witness statements describe final meeting
According to the published statements, the two women arrived at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel at around 11:30am after Payne allegedly contacted one of them through an escort website.
The witnesses said champagne was ordered for them, while Payne ordered whisky for himself.
One of the women also alleged that she saw Payne using illegal drugs. Those claims appear in the witness statements and have not been independently verified.
She said:
“We saw that he was doing something like crystal meth with bits of tinfoil.”
The witness also described the condition of the hotel room, stating:
“There was tinfoil everywhere with traces of drugs. A drawer was full of it, there was more burned tinfoil on the couch, a lot of clothes thrown around, he smelled of alcohol.”
Dispute over payment described in statements
According to the witnesses, after approximately two hours they asked Payne for the payment they said had been agreed.
The statements allege that Payne offered them his gold Rolex instead of cash, which they declined. They further claimed that he then damaged the watch and struck the television in the hotel room.

Liam Payne died later that afternoon
The women said they left the hotel shortly before 4pm.
Approximately 67 minutes later, Payne fell from the balcony of his third-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
Investigators later concluded that Payne was likely in a state of partial or complete unconsciousness at the time of the fall because of the combination of substances found in his system.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death has drawn on witness testimony, forensic evidence and official findings from Argentine authorities.
