Cat Burns Explains Why She Postponed Her UK Tour To Focus On Mental Health

Cat Burns has spoken openly about her decision to postpone her upcoming UK tour, saying the move was essential to protect her mental health and avoid burnout.

The singer has pushed her How To Be Human tour from November 2025 to April 2026, following an autism diagnosis in 2023, which came after she had previously been diagnosed with ADHD. Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Burns said the decision came from a growing awareness of her own limits and the impact of overwork.

“I don’t like to resist my feelings and I’m really mindful of not over-exerting myself and causing burnout, especially since my autism diagnosis. Once I’ve passed a point, it takes a really long time for me to recharge and be okay with coming back into society again.”

She admitted that her schedule had become overwhelming and that rescheduling was the only way she could return to the stage in the right headspace.

“I was conscious of my diary being really hectic, everything being everywhere, and not having any time to breathe and mentally recharge. It needed to be rescheduled so I can give everyone the best version of myself and put on the best show possible.”

Burns also spoke about the importance of setting boundaries in an industry that demands constant emotional output.

“It’s important to have your non-negotiables. You have to make sure that you’re looking after yourself because you give so much of yourself in this industry. You need to pour into you too.”

The rescheduled tour will now begin on 10 April 2026 with an eight-night run, including a sold-out headline show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton. Burns described the venue as a personal milestone.

“When I started everything, I always said, ‘If I can sell out Brixton, anything else I do in my career will be a bonus.’”
