Kasabian Score Eighth UK Number 1 Album With ACT III

Serge - Kasabian

Kasabian have scored their eighth UK Number 1 album with ACT III, winning a closely fought battle for the top spot on the Official Albums Chart.

The Leicester rock band held off strong competition from rising artists ADÉLA and PRESIDENT to claim the chart crown, extending a run of UK Number 1 albums that now stretches across two decades.

The achievement puts Kasabian in an elite group of artists who have reached eight UK Number 1 albums, alongside Oasis, Led Zeppelin, R.E.M., The Killers and Westlife.

ACT III also topped the Official Record Store Chart, after recording the highest physical sales through independent record shops across the UK.

Kasabian’s eight UK number 1 albums

Kasabian’s first UK Number 1 arrived with Empire in 2006, establishing the band as one of the UK’s leading rock acts of the 2000s.

Their subsequent chart-toppers have included West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum in 2009, Velociraptor! in 2011 and 48:13 in 2014.

The band returned to the top with For Crying Out Loud in 2017, followed by The Alchemist’s Euphoria in 2022 and Happenings in 2024.

Now, ACT III has become Kasabian’s eighth album to reach Number 1 in the UK.

Act III wins the physical battle
