Katy Perry references song lyric in fountain moment

In a short video clip, Perry explained the reasoning behind the gesture, referencing one of her own lyrics.

“Y’all, I told you in Save as Draft that I don’t f**k with change,”

“But I feel like I need to put something in the Trevi Fountain for good luck.”

The singer, dressed in glasses and a hoodie, kept a low profile as she filmed the moment.

Trevi Fountain tradition explained

The Trevi Fountain is one of Rome’s most famous landmarks, attracting thousands of visitors each day. The long-standing tradition involves throwing coins into the water, often believed to ensure a return to the city or bring good fortune.

Perry’s version, using a credit card instead of coins, offered a light-hearted take on the custom.

Rome visit and private performance

The trip coincided with a private performance at La Nuvola, where Perry performed on Saturday evening.

She also shared a series of photos from around the city, captioning the post:

“Just Rome’ing around,”
