Linkin Park, The Smashing Pumpkins and the Ramones are among the music stars selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2027. The three alternative music acts headline the Recording category, joining artists including David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Sia, Grandmaster Flash, Marc Shaiman and Karol G.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the 2027 class, recognising artists and entertainers whose work has made a lasting impact across music, film and television.
Linkin Park lead alternative music honourees
Linkin Park’s selection comes during a new chapter for the band, with Emily Armstrong joining as co-vocalist alongside Mike Shinoda.
The group recently became the first female-fronted band to headline Download Festival, marking another milestone since returning to live performances.
Speaking during the band’s reunion tour in 2024, Shinoda explained that Linkin Park’s return was never intended to replace late frontman Chester Bennington.
“We are thrilled to be back out here. It is not about erasing the past – it is about starting this new chapter into the future, and coming out here for each and every one of you.”
Armstrong has also spoken about Bennington’s influence on her career.
“That mix of singing and screaming, of energy and empathy, that he possessed had a monumental impact on me.”
“Chester has shaped me so much as a musician.”
