Pitbull Sets BST Hyde Park Attendance Record and Lands Guinness World Record for Bald Cap Gathering

Pitbull has made history at American Express presents BST Hyde Park after headlining the festival’s biggest-ever crowd and securing a Guinness World Record on the same day.

The Miami-born star performed to 69,999 fans at London’s Hyde Park, making it the highest-attended concert in the festival’s history. Ahead of taking to the stage, he was also officially recognised for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps simultaneously.

Pitbull breaks Guinness World Record at Hyde Park

The world record attempt was verified at 5pm, with 22,141 fans wearing bald caps across the festival site. BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James led the official count from the Great Oak Stage before Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford presented Pitbull with a framed certificate.

The record-breaking moment perfectly reflected the singer’s unique connection with fans, many of whom regularly attend his shows dressed in suits, sunglasses and bald caps in tribute to his trademark look.

A hit-filled headline set at Hyde Park

Pitbull followed the historic achievement with a high-energy, 20-song set spanning some of his biggest hits.

The singer delivered crowd favourites including “Don’t Stop The Party”, “Hotel Room Service” and “International Love”, backed by a large-scale production and a series of performance medleys.

Special guests Lil Jon and Kesha joined him on stage for the finale, performing tracks including “Timber” and “Fireball”.

Oasis tribute surprises London crowd

The global superstar also paid tribute to England’s football team ahead of their World Cup quarter-final against Norway by performing a surprise cover of Oasis classic “Wonderwall”.

The unexpected performance provided one of the night’s standout moments as thousands of fans joined in for a mass singalong.

Star-studded support line-up joins BST Hyde Park

The record-breaking day also featured performances from several major artists.

Kesha performed an independent electronic set featuring songs including “TikTok” and “Joyride”, while British rapper Tinie Tempah returned to the festival stage with performances of “Pass Out” and “Written In The Stars”.

The supporting bill also included Lil Jon, Los Tucanes De Tijuana, Tia Kofi, Mae Hill and Sanity.

Pitbull‘s headline performance now stands as both the biggest-attended concert in BST Hyde Park history and one of the festival’s most memorable moments, combining live music spectacle with a new Guinness World Record in front of nearly 70,000 fans.
