MUNA are an American indie pop band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2013. The group consists of Katie Gavin (vocals), Josette Maskin (guitar), and Naomi McPherson (guitar, production). They met while studying at the University of Southern California and began releasing music in the mid-2010s.
Musical Styles & Influences
MUNA’s sound blends indie pop, synth-pop, and electropop. Their debut album About U (2017) incorporates 1980s new wave influences and dark pop elements. Their second album Saves the World (2019) continued in the pop and alternative space. Their third album, Muna (2022), was produced after they signed with Saddest Factory Records.
