Shakira performed to more than 400,000 people at Zócalo in Mexico City over the weekend, setting a new record for the largest concert crowd ever recorded at the historic square.
The free show turned the city centre into a large-scale public event, with fans travelling from across Mexico to attend. Organisers installed giant screens throughout surrounding streets, along with additional viewing areas at Alameda Central and Monument to the Revolution to manage the turnout.
Setlist highlights and surprise collaboration
During the concert, Shakira was joined onstage by Beéle to perform their new collaboration “Algo Tú”, which is scheduled for official release on 4 May.
The crowd responded to a set packed with major hits including “Hips Don’t Lie”, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” and “Don’t Bother”, turning the Zócalo into one of the largest live music gatherings ever staged in the Mexican capital.
Next stop: Rio de Janeiro beachfront show
The record-breaking performance comes ahead of Shakira’s upcoming appearance at the Todo Mundo No Rio concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro on 2 May. The event is also scheduled as a free public concert.
The show forms part of her current global touring run, which continues into 2026 and draws from across her catalogue.
Tour milestones and industry recognition
According to Billboard, the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has become the highest-grossing Hispanic tour in history. The tour generated $421.6 million across 82 stadium dates in the United States and Latin America and attracted more than 3.3 million fans.
Shakira has also been named a 2026 nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
