Steps could return to the road in 2027 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut single 5, 6, 7, 8, with Claire Richards revealing the band is discussing how to mark the milestone.
The British pop group, made up of Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian “H” Watkins, will celebrate 30 years since their breakthrough hit was released in November 2027. While no tour has been confirmed, Richards says the possibility is very much on the table.
Claire Richards says Steps are considering a 30th anniversary tour
Speaking on the Good Food podcast, Claire Richards was asked whether fans can expect another Steps tour.
She said:
“Hopefully. It is our 30th anniversary next year, which I can’t quite believe.
It doesn’t feel that long at all, and fingers crossed we’ll do something. We are not sure yet.”
Although the group has yet to announce any live dates, the comments will encourage fans hoping to see Steps celebrate three decades together with a new tour.
The band last toured the UK in support of their recent releases and have remained one of Britain’s most successful pop reunion acts.

Richards’ comments come after many fans hoped the Spice Girls would reunite to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut single, although no anniversary tour materialised.
Steps have previously reunited several times since their original split, releasing new music and selling out arena tours across the UK.

Elsewhere in the interview, Richards admitted she only recently discovered artists could be far more specific about what they request backstage.
She explained:
“I only learned a few years ago that you can be specific.
We would always just go, ‘Two bottles of prosecco, two bottles of rosé, and white’.
And then we did the Mighty Hoopla Festival a few years ago.
Blue were wandering around with bottles of Whispering Angel, and we had some rubbish rosé in ours.
I said to someone, ‘How come they’ve got that and we’ve got rubbish stuff?’ And they said, ‘Well, they asked for it’.
So now I’m always very specific. Now it’s Whispering Angel, and I always ask for a bottle of Laurent-Perrier rosé Champagne.
I don’t always get it, but the days I do get it are very exciting.”
