The war of words between SZA and Nicki Minaj has escalated online, with SZA responding to being called a “dead dog” by telling Minaj to “bark at the wall.”
The feud flared up after Nicki Minaj launched a string of attacks on social media, targeting not just SZA but also her longtime manager and Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) president, Terrence “Punch” Henderson. In a now-deleted post, Minaj referred to him as a “tiny dick executive” and accused SZA of long-running bullying behaviour toward other artists, including Beyoncé, Rihanna and herself.
Minaj resurfaced a series of alleged old tweets, supposedly written by SZA, that criticised major pop stars. One of the screenshots read:
“Beyonce lookin more and more like madonna every day! Coulda swore she was black at one point… #justsayin”
Minaj, who is no stranger to online confrontations, responded with a barrage of posts on X, saying:
“Me after I suck some good zik. Guarantee you wouldn’t fight a man. We have every tweet of your incessant bullying, lying, and more. Your name was added to that shit list shitty drawers. Same thing that make you laugh make you…shit.”
SZA initially seemed to dismiss the drama, posting a vague message that read:
“Mercury retrograde.. don’t take the bait lol silly goose.”
But Minaj took it personally and intensified her attacks, calling SZA a “dead dog” and bringing up an unrelated grievance involving Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez.
In the same rant, Minaj accused Perez of wrongfully admitting her daughter, Demoree Hadley, to a mental health facility. Perez, a controversial figure in the music industry, was pardoned by Donald Trump in 2021 for a past drug conviction. Minaj wrote:
“Go draw your freckles back on bookie #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez Liar liar pants on fire. Sounding like a fkng dead dog.”
Minaj’s fanbase, the Barbz, quickly mobilised online, trolling SZA across platforms. In response, the “Kill Bill” singer reminded followers of her real-world success, writing:
“I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love. IN REAL LIFE. My parents are healthy and I’m the most successful I ever been. GET SOME FUCKING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL!!!”
