Taylor Swift Named IFPI Global Artist Of The Year For Sixth Time

Taylor Swift has been named the world’s biggest-selling recording artist of 2025 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). The announcement was made on Wednesday 18 February as part of the annual IFPI Global Artist Chart.

The award marks Swift’s fourth consecutive year at No.1 and the sixth time she has topped the global ranking, which tracks an artist’s worldwide performance across streaming, downloads and physical sales during the calendar year.

Swift has not yet publicly commented on the news.

An historic run on the Global Artist Chart

IFPI chief executive Victoria Oakley described the achievement as a landmark moment.

“Taylor Swift’s sixth IFPI Global Artist of the Year award is a truly historic achievement. The IFPI Global Artist Chart is comprised of remarkable artists across the globe and also represents the teams and long-term commitment behind each release, ensuring fans around the world can connect with music in meaningful ways.”

The chart reflects the total global consumption of an artist’s catalogue across all formats, not just new releases.
