Unreleased Beyoncé music, tour footage and setlists were among the items stolen during a car break-in involving her choreographer and dancer in Atlanta, according to police reports.
The theft took place on 8 July at Krog Street Market in Atlanta, Georgia, just days before Beyoncé wrapped her Cowboy Carter Tour stop in the city.
According to a report from the Atlanta Police Department (APD), choreographer Christopher Grant and backup dancer Diandre Blue parked their rented Jeep Wagoneer at the market around 8pm. When they returned an hour later, they found the rear window shattered and two suitcases missing from the vehicle.
Among the items stolen were:
- Two laptops
- Hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music
- Watermarked audio files
- Draft setlists
- Tour footage and plans
“Mr. Grant advised he was also carrying some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé,” the APD report stated. “He advised he was her choreographer, and Mr. Diandre Blue was a dancer for her, and that her hard drives for her upcoming show in Atlanta were [stolen].”
Both Grant and Blue were in Atlanta as part of Beyoncé’s crew for her Mercedes-Benz Stadium shows. The Atlanta leg marked the final stretch of the star’s current tour dates in the city.
Police have confirmed that tracking technology helped them locate some of the stolen electronics, including laptops and headphones. Officers also recovered fingerprints from the damaged SUV and have issued a warrant for an unnamed suspect.
“At this time, the suspect remains outstanding, and their identity is not yet available for release,” an APD spokesperson told People. “Please keep in mind that the information released is preliminary in nature and could change as the investigation progresses or new information comes to light.”
It remains unclear whether any of the unreleased music or production content has been recovered. As of now, Beyoncé’s team has not made any public comment regarding the break-in or the security of her upcoming material.
